The New Year Comes To Chinatown Vol. 2.0

My second installment to the Chinese New Year diaries. Eating vegetarian food here is quite an experience, the Chinese are not necessarily of the vegetarian stock to begin with. Finding a restaurant is a challenge if you don't know how to read the signs. Signs draped in blue usually points towards vegetarianism and places that serve it. Although, beware, they are seldom Vegan!!! I was a bit cramped for space, sleeping in budget rooms, but that seemed nothing compared to the joy of discovery. My first time in a ethnically Chinese dominated area, and what better place to be, other than in the Singlish speaking Chinatown. No language barriers to break, no hassle with... unfriendly state authorities - if you can manage the accent, la - and endless supply of cheap food. I simply love living

Adventures In The Dark Side

I begin when sunset fades to twilight. A creature of the dark, captivated by the abundance of contrasting shapes that seems to come out of nowhere. Rich colors, separated by the sharp gradations generates compositions that never fails to amaze a prowling eye.

However, I've chosen to omit colors as a deliberate attempt t...o discover composition through shapes. This was my first chance to shoot black & white at low light, although, primarily shooting in monochrome, I move back to color at times of significance.

Boat & Clark Quays are essentially watering holes for the multitude of tourists and holiday makers that ship into Singapore in their millions. They also cater to the local business and salary men working nearby. Conveniently located between the parliament, administrative buildings, business districts, museums and shopping mall, the importance of these places cannot be overstated.
