Potraits In Black & White

How did you feel when you saw your parents wedding pictures for the first time (given that you were born in Bangladesh before 1980)? Certainly, for those who grew up surrounded by black & white media, often the very sight of an oldie tends to generate nostalgia. This album hosts some previously unpublished pictures as well as some re-worked versions of published ones in Black & White.

Maybe we’re conditioned by what we assimilated at a very early age. Yet, that does not explain why these images still manages to invoke awe in those who were born well after the heyday of b&w media. Those who appreciate photography, notice how b&w portraits stand out from the rest. Ansel Adams, frequently cited to be the guru of landscapers managed to capture breathtaking scenery well before the coming of Velvia & Phase One (no pinch intended for the manufacturers of these excellent tools, for the record, I’d love to own a 45/60 mp monster).
